A fake token has the same name

Anyone can create a token called USDC. What can't be copied is the contract address.

Open and see: the official contract

  1. Open the USDC page on CoinGecko.
  2. Next to “Contract”, open the list and find Base.
  3. Compare the start and end with the previous screen.
