Two numbers to look at
Before using an app, check its size and its use. Neither one is a guarantee.
- TVL: how much is deposited. A big, older app is usually more battle-tested
- Fees: how much people pay to use it. Shows real use. High fees don't mean safe
- Official site: the right link. Always go in from it, saved in your bookmarks
Open and explore DefiLlama
- On the home page, see the apps with the most money deposited (TVL).
- Under “Fees”, see which apps earn the most fees.
- Open an app (e.g. Aave) and find its official website link. Bookmark it.
- Look at the networks the app runs on: find Base.
